Pattern after pattern... until when

Patterns: The Visible Mechanics, Yet Unseen.

Have you ever found yourself caught repeating a mistake after mistake? It’s as if you’re living a rerun of past missteps where the familiar pain winds its way through each new day—somehow new, but the same stingy feeling followed by remorse. We often justify these repeated patterns as fate or bad luck, yet the truth is far more personal: it’s our habit, our daily choices—comfortably familiar even if it hurts.

I’ve sat in the aftermath of a recurring error—staring at the broken pieces of what should have been a new beginning—and wondered how I ended up in the same maze once more. It wasn’t until I started tracing the roots of these missteps. Just then, I realised the power of routine—and the equally powerful lack of it. It’s not that fate only picks me; rather, it’s that I neglect picking me—capiche?

Confronting these patterns is the first act of rebellion against a predetermined life. It requires brutal honesty—acknowledging that you’re your best friend/worst enemy. I remember the epiphany when I recognised that every repeated mistake wasn’t an unchangeable curse but a missed opportunity—and it’s such a shame I missed so many in my life. But, once the truth dawned, it transformed resistance into a war for personal reinvention—cliché or not, it is what it is.

To break the cycle means to understand that these missteps are not evidence of your brokenness—they’re simply chapters, part of the bigger process. Real growth—though I really don’t believe that—begins when you decide to stray from the well-trodden path—even if that path is comfortable in its familiarity.

I urge you: when you catch yourself in that familiar loop, take a moment to pause and reflect—the first time nothing may happen, but try to repeat… and repeat… and perhaps one day you will see what I mean.

Understand that the recurring patterns are not chains, but signs urging you to take a different route. Each step you take away from that damaging cycle means you’re crafting one full of surprises—that said, you will still go through bad scenarios, but they’ll be much more worth it.

Don’t wait for the moment when you are ready to break free—there won’t be such a time until you clench your fists and show what you’re made of.
